My research has long focused on the intersection of nutrition, the microbiome, immunity, and whole-person health. Over the years, I became increasingly interested in how emerging microbiome science could be translated into practical tools that support everyday well-being.
Good Bacteria began when founder and CEO Anabel González reached out to me for scientific feedback on a new vision for gut microbiome health. As we discussed the science, the challenges facing consumers, and the need for a more thoughtful approach to gut health, it became clear that we shared a common goal: making microbiome science more accessible, practical, and evidence-informed.
What started as a request for scientific feedback evolved into a true partnership. I joined Good Bacteria as Founding Scientist and Chief Well-being Officer, helping shape the scientific philosophy, educational framework, and product development strategy from the company's earliest stages. Since then, I have helped guide the company's scientific strategy, educational content, and product development from concept through launch.

The gut microbiome plays an important role in digestion, metabolism, immune function, and the microbiota-gut-brain axis. My approach begins with:
Good Bacteria was developed to complement these foundations through a rotating system that combines prebiotics, probiotics, postbiotics, and fermented-food-inspired ingredients to support a healthy and resilient microbiome.
One of the concepts that particularly resonated with me was the idea of a rotating system designed to support microbial diversity rather than relying on a single, static formulation. While no supplement can replicate the complexity of a healthy lifestyle, approaches that encourage diversity and resilience are consistent with what we continue to learn about the microbiome.

Good Bacteria reflects many of the principles that have guided my work for years: supporting microbiome diversity, prioritizing whole-person health, and translating emerging science into practical, real-world solutions.
